Lars Hendriksen - Founder of Boat Clubs

Lars Hendriksen is the driving force behind the Boat Clubs concept, an international network connecting boat owners across brands and harbors. As a trained engineer and IT consultant since 1998, Lars has combined his technical expertise with a lifelong passion for sailing to create digital communities for the world's sailors.

The story began with HR-Club.net, a platform Lars founded for owners of Hallberg-Rassy yachts. Today, the club counts over 1,500 registered boats and 38,000+ members on Facebook, and has become the global gathering point for HR owners. The success of HR-Club became the foundation for a bigger vision: What if every boat brand could have its own dedicated community?

That's how Boat Clubs came to be – a concept that today encompasses 44+ international sailing club websites, where boat owners can share experiences, technical knowledge, and sailing stories. In parallel, Lars has developed BoatBuddy.ai, an AI-powered marine assistant that makes technical boat knowledge accessible to all sailors.

Lars runs his maritime tech ventures from Værftet.biz in Køge – an office hotel he established in 2018 in a converted shipyard south of Copenhagen. From here, he continues to build bridges between sailors worldwide, one community at a time.
